Prints / Peacock-II
$120

Medium : Giclee Print

Size : 16" x 20"

Painting Peacock is done inspired by Kalamkari style of Indian folk art. Kalamkari is the more decorative style of Indian folk art. It is originated in Andhra Pradesh, India. Meaning of Kalamkari is Pen like (Kalam- pen, Kari-like); Its intricacy looks as fine as it done with a pen. Its also has very limited color palette: white is exposed paper, painting is drawn with black paint and only one other color than red is used to evoke the painting. I find this style very challenging. It is primarily used as textile designing. Decorative elements of Kalamkari help me transport my landscapes to the fantasy world.

The original painting was done in Gouache on cold press paper and now belongs to a private collection in India. Available are Limited edition giclee prints.
