Yugal is Sanskrit word for Couple. This painting is a portrayal of a Peacock and Peahen perching on the tree near a fall on Amavasya night (no moon night). Painting is done with decorative style of Indian folk art - Kalamkari. Style is know for it's intricate design and it's very limited color palette: white is exposed paper, painting is drawn with black paint and only one other color than red is used to evoke the painting. I find this style very challenging. It is primarily used as textile designing. Decorative elements of Kalamkari help me transport my landscapes to the fantasy world.
It is custom framed in black wooden frame with acid-free offwhite matt.
