"Telling stories of day to day life through India folk art- Warli."
Warli is a rudimentary painting style that uses a basic graphic vocabulary of shapes to create Mural paintings in rural parts of India. Traditionally the paintings are done with two colors, white or black for the characters and brown color from the mud plaster. The vibrancy of the painting comes out through the stories and mood it portrays and not through the colors. Over the period of time, I have adapted the essence of style and woven them into my painting to create my own signature style. The focus is always to create balance and harmony within the colors and graphics, create delicate and intricate surroundings, and achieve the finest details using super fine 000 brushes.
Medium: The painting is created on a 12" x 12" heavily textured Masonite board and the characters are painted with Acrylics. The fine details are achieved with 000 brushes. To provide UV protection, the painting is treated with Fixativ Lascaux spray and high gloss varnishing. The painting is wired and ready to be hung.
Color Palette: Blues and white. The sides of the painting are painted white.
